Best leaper boot emblem
Hello,
I noticed recently my car is missing the "JAGUAR" logo, to my knowledge all 2000 XK8s had it stock.
I like the look of the leapers I see on some other cars, but there are lots of part numbers. I've looked through many posts but never found a definitive part number. I believe I'm looking for C2Z11308, which was shipped with later XFs and has adhesive backing.
So my questions are:
1. Is C2Z11308 the correct part number, or does anybody recommend a different size?
2. Should I also add the traditional Jaguar logo to the left side of the boot? I think both may be too much and aligning the logo relative to the "XK8" will drive me crazy.
If anybody has pictures of different sizes and combinations I'd love to see them!
Thanks,
Jacob

I don't believe that any 2000 X100s had a leaper on the boot (/trunk).
JAGUAR in letters under the left tail light, and XK8 (or XKR) under the right tail light (camouflaging the boot/ trunk keyhole).

They don’t, I should have been more clear. I’m trying to find the part number for one that will fit, lots of others added them to their X100s.

Jacob,
Different part numbers - C2C38927, C2Z31124, MNA6249EA or MNA6249AB
Different years, different cars, different emblems. Look closely and you'll even see the Jaguar text font change with different XK8 (some have a larger dropped 8). Doesn't matter really much at USD20 (cheaper if you accept the Chinese imports from eBay).
One option is to keep the JAGUAR text on the LHS under the rear light unit, and then add the leaping cat C2Z11308 central under the handle area. It's your car, and the logo is only USD20 so go for it. Take a picture when you finish. You might start a trend..... maybe not. Some Forum members have done amazing things in Photoshop to see how things would look prior to undertaking work.
Another option is to replace the LHS Jaguar text with the leaping cat. Beware the curvature of the rear body work though as the leaping cat is probably flat. The advantage there, is that the leaping cat has less "nooks and crannies" than the Jaguar text, which I often have to clean out with an ear bud.
If you don't like it, a bit of gentle heat and dental floss can take off the adhesive backing. Any solvent will remove sticky residue. No biggie.
