Installation Complete - LOVE IT !
I finally made a block of time to install the Bluetooth module and it went in fairly easily !
The biggest challenge was finding the proper 12V power to tap under the armrest in the center console. It took me around an hour of research on this forum to find the answer - posted some time in 2009 I think.
Attached is a PDF of the play-by-play with photos. Hope this will help you out.
I paid $155 USD for the JAGCD-HF module from Discount Car Stereo, online. Discount Car Stereo
The sound is GREAT - no buzzing or hissing from interference.
I think that this is a perfect solution to keeping your current premium setup and adding bluetooth phone and audio.
Cheers !

Hi GGG
That is the entire kit. It promises to patch between the CD player in the trunk and the head unit and still keep the CD player active.
The other module goes inside the center console with a microphone/control button tether and a USB power port.
Seems like a fairly straightforward install with a lot of running/hiding wires in the crevasses of the interior.

Doug, from reading the install document and the ads from this manufacturer, yes that's what it does. Since you have access to the cd changer plug, these units work off that as the source. Your choice from your driver seat is cd or your smartphone (calls or internet music...)

Other systems have a better wiring that takes advantage of the mute and phone-in of the head unit. This way, incoming calls require you to just accept the call, and that is it. Even if the head unit is off, the call comes in through the car speakers. If you are already listening to music, it mutes it, and you get the call instead. Might even pause the CD. To my knowledge, all our cars have this mute/audio-in feature on the head unit, and wired to the arm rest, too.

Wow I just visted the site, prices are down to $89. JAG-CD Auxiliary Jack, Changer retention Kit for Jaguar XJ and XK :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces
Question for CE2 (or anyone who knows). Can I pull up, for example, Pandora on my smart phone and beam the music to this device via bluetooth?
I ask because my darn phone's USB jack is defective. I"ve been charging via induction for a while now. When I read the instructions it wasn't clear that I could use bluetooth for signal transmission to this device. Please confirm.
THanks,
John

May have just answered my question: JAG-HF Handsfree, Aux and Charging for select Jaguar XK and XJ with CD Changer :: Bluetooth
I read CE2's note more carefully. Looks like he uses the HF model, not the one I posted above. Bet that's what I need for "handsfree" or bluetooth connectivity.
Might as well ask: Can I assume that "streaming technology" as noted in the instructions is for stuff downloading off the www like Pandora and can be a bluetooth connection to this unit; While "audio devices" can be expected to have a copper connection between the player and this unit's 3.5mm jack - these will need access to a USB port.
Thanks (I'm starting to feel old asking these questions )
