Book value
Can some one explain the wide disparity in Blue book vs. NADA price?
For a 97 KX8 with 83K mi., the KBB suggested retail (dealer) is $9055, while the NADA clean retail is$11775.
Same car trade-in KBB excellent condition $6220, NADA clean trade-in $8400.

Kelley Blue is based on auction sales and categorizes by condition of the vehicle.
NADA Blue Orange and Yellow books are only available and for use by members of NADA. They typically base on actual dealer info, auctions, bank sales, etc. and assume all vehicles are primo, front-row cars. We all know most aren't so the printed price is very subject to adjustment by the person holding the book and the money.
Black Book is strictly for dealers and banks. Weekly instead of monthly and is basically what dealer sold what car for how much in what condition. Also has "Black Book's Cars of Particular Interest" (CPI) for cars from the '40s to almost recent.
