Default Boot (trunk) lights

Can anyone help when I open the boot the lights fail to come on. I have checked both bulbs and they are OK.

The boot lights aare control by a micro switch in the locking mechanism. Do and advanced search for boot light and you will find some good write ups on dis-assembly and repair of the switch.
In most case after you open it up a good cleaning is all it needs. If you remove the trim around the latch I think the switch is mounted to the lock mechanism side.

+1 on Avern's advice. Glove compartment and boot lights are on the same circuit, so microswitch is most likely culprit.
