Boot will not open but the switches seem to work
I searched the forums for this problem before taking finger to key.
I had no trouble opening the boot until today. It has always worked using the remote or the dash switch.
I have now tried and both do not work. when I do activate either of the two switches, I can hear the truck mechanism engage but the boot stays locked. - It opens fine with the key manually.
I would think that if there is an electrical problem I would not hear the mechanism engage....but with this baby there is always a surprise in store.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

Since you advise that you can hear the electrical solenoid operating I would suggest that the problem may be more mechanical that electrical. Remove the operating mechanism for the latch and see if you can see what is not functioning correctly.
If it is an electrical problem it is probably inside the harness at the right side trunk hinge where it flexes all those thousands of times.
A dealer technician will slice open the harness and splice the wires and use tape to put it back together. When mine failed I removed the harness, withdrew the wires, spliced them and then threaded them back through the harness with nothing to show of the repair.
Another thing I could not make a living doing.
