Brake lights, come again?

Brake lights, come again?
2001 XK8 with 65K miles here.
Issue is brake lights staying on all the time.
In an older post (which I can't seem to locate again in search), someone said this condition happens when the switch behind the break pedal pops out and one just has to reset it again.
My question: Is this switch the same one I had replaced a few months ago when my alert kept flashing "check rear lights/failsafe mode...?" It doesn't look like a "micro" switch. And no alert messages are flashing this time. Could the problem be something else?

What it was
I got no replies, but thanks anyhow to all who viewed. Just to follow up, the microswitch was the problem -- again. I had a new switch installed a few months ago by a reputable British vehicle mechanic, but incorrectly. Best guess why - as sgtofmarines1775 suggested in a old post - is that guy didn't use a torque wrench. The mounting bolt had pulled through the plate. Live and learn.
