Default Brake Switch Symptoms?

My XKR was already displaying the Check Rear Lights and Cruise Control not available amber light warnings before I changed the shifter trim for the aluminum one and had to realign the shifter cable. However, it now makes the Not In Park beep upon removing the key even though the car is in fact in park.

Can a bad brake switch cause the the Not In Park beep while simultaneously not allowing you to shift out of park until you use the overide switch?

I'm making a separate thread for this because I asked this in another thread, but it seems to be getting ignored.

Park is a micro-switch that activates the solenoid. The solenoid won't release is the brake switch. If the park light is lighting you are still not quite adjusted properly.

You mean the light on P? That one lights up when the car is on Park. If you mean the dashboard Brake light, then that does not light up.
