Broken security module questions.

Broken security module questions.
Does anyone know if the security module, which the remote needs to operate, has a circuit board like the seat module?
If it does and I pull it out, will the car still run?
Has anyone had the antenna disconnect?
I'm thinking that if it does have a circuit board, maybe it can be fixed by the guy who fixed my seat module. Could be that this module has a broken circuit like my seat module did.
Thanks for any help.

The security module is much more complex than the seat modules. It can be something simple like a bad connection in the connectors or a leaky electrolytic capacitor to any one of the ic's or transistors on the board. If its beyond something simple these are much harder to bench test out of the car.

What problem do you have with your remotes?

So if i buy a fob and it's the module, I've wasted the money and if I buy a module and it's the fob, I've REALLY wasted a lot of money.

Not working. Jag dealer says it's the fob. An indie Jag auto repair shop and an auto locksmith say the fob is not the issue. None can program the remote.

Not my merit........
