Default burnt out light in the dash?

So, just recently my gauges began looking like this at night.

Is one of the lights behind the dash burnt out?

any suggestions?

You need to remove the instrument cluster and replace the bulbs:

See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...er-bulb-11423/. There is even a Rev. Sam video in that thread !

Default Bulbs

Also, no need to buy expensive Jaguar bulbs, they are pretty standard ones as you'll see when you get them out. One of mine wasn't burnt out, just needed to be reseated...

And don't buy the fancy LED bulbs. I bought them to replace my standard incandescent bulbs, but the LEDs really sucked. The cheap bulbs work the best.

Make sure you disconnect the battery AFTER lowering the steering wheel. Don't try to do it with the power on. I did that the first time and there was a nasty spark when I reconnected the connectors. Fortunately nothing was damaged.

So did I and the same thing happened. There is a lot going on at that connection, don't give it any reason to act up.

+1000

On the XK8/R the instrument panel is literally the hub that links all the electronic modules together. You definitely want to handle it and its connections gently.
