Buying Tibby or Tibbie keys
He still has a post in the marketplace. Is he not responding to PMs?

Thanks for the info, I will contact him today. I didn't have a name to go by and when I searched "tibia keys other posts came up. I guess "announcements" at the top are temporary. Like many here, I only got one key with my "old used" car.
Here's a change to get on my soapbox...........an owners manual and spare keys are just like a spare tire, jack and the glove box lid...
IT'S PART OF THE CAR!!!!! Thanks for listening, I feel much better now! TM

I had the same problem as you...my new "used": car came with only one key. Just be aware that cutting the key is only the first step. The car has to be programmed to accept all keys at the same time... the car is programmed to the keys NOT the keys programmed to the car. I searched every lock smith in my area and no one could cut and program Jaguar keys, Ended up going to Jaguar dealer and spending $300 and two hours to get new key cut and programmed. Also, this is not about the fob. You can get replacement fobs on ebay for about $18 for two. Programming those is easy and takes less than a minute.

In my defense TIBIA was either a typo or auto correct. But no I wasn't sure how to spell it. LOL
And can anyone tell me what a TIBBE is and why is it called that. I'm keene to the bonnet, hood, boot stuff but I was wondering if that is also a British term.
I have 2 FOB's coming from eBay, I need to get keys so I'm not left in a pickle. Thanks to everyone. TM

I had the same problem getting a new key cut and the car programmed to accept a new fob. I found a locksmith in Lancaster, PA, of all places, who did the entire thing for about $ 125.00 as I recall. had to bring the car and fob to him and wait for about an hour (plus the 1+ hour to get to Lancaster (my local Jaguar dealer claimed they didn't have the equipment to do it!).
From t'interweb:
"Tibbe keys are high security keys used in motor vehicles introduced by Ford Motors in 1982. The Tibbe key is based on a specific key code which is derived on the basis of three different cut angles of eight ridge on the lock rim. These cut angle key codes are located near the tip"

Michael answered the first part, I'm happy to stab the second part.
As you may have guessed, Tibbe is a person (Guenter Tibbe), and a company. The person is a German engineer. The company apparently still exists, not clear about the person. Here's a patent
