Cam chain tensioners or shock mounts?
Hey, I've managed to save a few hundred since getting my xk8 back on the road and have many in here to thank for their kind & generous help!
my '99 xk8 has 49k well kept miles on it and it runs & drives perfect. im the second owner and bought it from a very elderly gentleman who was unable to recall if he ever had the tensioners done, so I will assume they are the originals.
my shock mounts are deteriorated and want to change those out. my question is, which should I change FIRST, my tensioners or the shock mounts? my Michelins have less than 1k on them and do not want premature wear.
any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks,

Guaranteed EVERYONE will say to do the tensioners... and I agree. Better to lose your Michelins than your engine. Plus, I am not sure how much the bad shock mounts will contribute to tire wear...
Christophers Foreign Auto Parts has by far the best prices. The kit with the chains, gaskets, tensioners and bolts is cheaper than buying everything but the chains separately even if you don't end up needing the chains. 99 is the year some have one type of cam cover gasket or the other so you need to check.
I've had very good experiences with this place.
