Default Can I use a 4 speed XK8 shifter for my XKR supercharged

Hi, just wondering has anyone ever swap their XKR 5 speed gearbox shifter to a 4 speed gearbox shifter? If Yes, does the J gate work?

This is my current one, it is cracked and brittle.

I was wondering if this new piece can be installed.

Wouldn't it be easier to find the correct part?

You think mean 5 speed and 6 speed. I would expect the system to object to the incorrect part.

The selector lever illumination module is not just a plastic part but a 'listen only' node on the CAN bus.
The W5A580 module is not compatible with a ZF6HP26.

I tried to look for the exact same gear shifter for my xkr but I can't find a suitable one.

thanks for the info, I think I'll swap the top part with the wordings with my current one. I only need the top part because the orihinal is cracked and brittle.

Default Performance restricted problem

Another issue I am facing is the car starts to cut off power and jerks badly around 3,000 rpm. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it is fine. Anyone of you ever encountered this issue?

diagnostic was done but couldn't find any problem. Spark plugs, fuel pump and coil all new. I have also checked the Air flow sensor and it is also working fine.

Any suggestions to overcome this issue? Thanks

Because you have been working on J gate, maybe it's the 3000 rev neutral limiter kicking in, was everything in order at the gear selector. Just seems a little coincidental.

everything is working in order. So far the car can drive as long as it doesn't go up to 3,000 rpm. I'll try to check the gear shifter again.
