Can someone tell me how to remove the rear speaker panel?

Default Can someone tell me how to remove the rear speaker panel?

I'm planning on recovering my speaker covers but I need to remove the entire side panel. I see the screws that hold the cap on and the seat belt but I can't seem to find any exposed screws or bolts holding this panel on. Is it simple held in with pop in tabs? Here's a photo of a similar panel, mine is a 2002. Can someone tell me how to remove the rear speaker panel?-image.jpg

We had that out when we replaced the passenger's seatbelt on Mari's car. I think there were a couple small screws somewhere.

If i remember correctly,
start by removing the rear bench (two bolts of both sides underneath)

pull of the top cover which is held on with clips and a screw or two.

The rest of the quarter molding in held in with clips and a bolt on the bottom under where the rear bench was.

This is to the best of my recollection.

Best of luck, maybe find a photo online of the rear side of the panel that would give you a better idea.

I was afraid of that!! Since I've deleted my rear seats, I was hoping not to have to take out my new panels. I think it's a sort of Masonite so I may just rip the suckers out!! I found the back photo and I don't see any screw locations at the bottom only what looks like tabs similar to the front fascia panels. Push in style.

I don't actually see any screws other than the seat belt holder. Same tabs as fascia except for the long tab on side. Pass me that crowbar!!!

One other question. D I disconnect the battery since that mesh on passenger side is part of the airbag? I didn't when I unplugged the a pillars.

It would be a good idea to unplug the battery.

If you end up needing to unplug anything airbag related you could set off a code.

The mess is not part of the airbag but the seat belt tensioner is and I don't remember if you need to unplug the sensor at the bottom in order to wiggle the panel out.

Best thing to do us pull gently on the panel to reveal where it is being held on.

If it is giving resistance from the center then it will deffinitely be push pins, you may want to consider buying these is you plan on taking things apart regularly.

They keep you from damaging the push pin mounts that can break off.

carefully bend those little tabs (6 of them) and the screen will wiggle free. They break easily. You can reach them if you just unbolt the top 'cover' that has the clip for the convertible cover.
