Default Can you help source this part? – Front Spring JLM20712

I can not find it anywhere, and no one knows when it will be in.

So far I have called or sent emails to ken@britishparts.com, jaguarpartscenter.com, www.xk8-parts.com/, Gaudin

I would be happy with an aftermarket part, but all I can find in lowering springs and I do not want the car any lower.

Thanks

Ken has a 1 800 # have you attempted to call him? It is unlike him to not respond. His # is 1.800.338.5238 they are in fact a good resource for used and new parts. As for xk8 parts, I understand they are good. Have you tried jagbits? Are you set on a new or used part? If used is good you should try a local junk yard, they have a network that is beyond anything I have ever seen. If ones is available locally they will find it for you.

Try www.welshnet.com. If you don't see it on the web site give em a call. They have a lot of stuff both new, new old stock and used. I'm betting they have it.
Let us know where you run it down.

Search for posts about members who have installed lowering springs. Then contact them and offer to buy their old springs.

Ask how many miles on the car when they pulled the OEM springs.

And most guys getting ready to lower their cars will have done wheel arch height measurements providing an indication of how tall the springs will be in your car. The taller the installed height is probably pretty well correlated to newer springs.

I would sell you mine but it was my understanding there was a design change at some point, probably 2003, and the tops of the springs are different shapes. That is what I was told when I originally received the incorrect springs from Mina (issue was resolved the next day via FedEx) Also is there may be a spring rate difference in cars with CATS. Can anyone confirm this?

Well, the backorder is scheduled to be filled by Oct so I think I will put the new mounts on the old springs and then just redo it when I get the new springs.

thanks everyone

Scott, have you tried Coventry West in Conyers? They stock a lot of Jag replacement parts and have a huge bone-yard.

I changed the front mounts since I could not get the springs and I think that is all I needed. I think the mechanic that diagnosed the issue may have misdiagnosed it.
