Default Car won't start!

So while I was at work today my wife took out the 2000 XK8. She said it ran great. Parked it. Went to take it out again and it won't start. It cranks but no sign of ignition. After about 5 seconds of cranking the engine failsafe light comes on. I tried cranking it at WOT but still no sign of ignition. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Tom

Update:
I tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, wouldn't start.
Tried it a few more times, wouldn't start, got engine failsafe mode.
Tried it in neutral, it started!
Took it for a ride, everything ran fine.
Tried to start it a few times in park, wouldn't start.
Tried it in neutral, started.
Pushed it "hard" into park and it started (took longer than normal though.
Started it a few more times in neutral and in park and now all seems fine.

Could it be the rotary switch or adjustment?

I'm the guy who's also been having the occasional 'free rev' and 'no upshift' on a cold start.

Thanks!

sounds more like the rotary/neutral safety switch as u suspect. possible it could be loose, I wad told theres a small chance of adjustment by my indy mechanic.
