I've noticed a sound for a while but didn't think too much of it but I realised the other day I have a little hole and crack on one of my catalytic converters after the actual converter on the right angle pipe section. The only problem is I can't seem to find any catalytic converters for sale for the 4.2 engine cars only the 4.0 cars. There seems to be two types for sale though one with a join like the 4.2 and the other with just a pipe that goes into the exhaust pipe however I dont' think the bracket points fit on the 4.2? Anyone know where to get new CATs or should I just get mine welded up?

 

Given the cost of these when you can find them I’d for sure just weld it up.

 

Yea that is sort of what I hope the garage is willing to do because my emmisions are fine otherwise.
