CD player wiring harness
Hi Renejolley, Could you say more about your plans? I'm not sure what wire segment you are referring to, nor what you would like to do (cut into/splice; replace defective . . ?). I don't want to assume anything, please tell us which wire harness you mean (wire harness between x and y).
Thanks,
John
Thanks,

If I can add myself to the same query
Through my small research I think the best course of action is to directly splice in it, and I think the steering controls can be used directly, as on ebay I'm only finding converting cables with some modules for the steering controls. Are they valid, or are they for the newer models only with phone support, etc.? Mine only has Play/Stop, Volume Up/Down and Next track/CD.

regarding the eBay advertisement, whenever i see crimp on butt connectors it is no sale. never use these for anything if you desire reliability. there are aircraft grade types, but these will not be found on the cheapo stuff.
With respect - I don't understand the question. If your CD player doesn't work, replace it with an identical Jaguar unit - cheap on Ebay.
If you want to modify the circuit to provide an "aux" input, it is not difficult to achieve but you will probably need to keep the existing CD player to "fool" the car into thinking it is playing a CD even if it is playing the output from an MP3 player or an iPhone.
Solutions will be different according to whether you want a simple audio input, or whether you want the complete Bluetooth music / phone / steering wheel interface "de-luxe" option. Let us know and someone will be able to help I'm sure.

I'm going for a full radio replacement with a Pioneer head unit. I was planning to add a swap of the sound system (Harman Kardon) with Alpine X series, but as I need to replace the engine, this will wait a bit and I'll stick with the radio only
