Default center insert for trunk medallion wanted

The center insert of the jaguar trunk medallion on my 98 XK8 has vanished. I'm just left with a flat chrome dish on my trunk with no jaguar insignia in it. Any idea where I can get just the medallion insert? Thanks.

Yeah, mine's gone too !

If you find one (or two), let me know as I've scoured Ebay and used parts stores...Nothing.

Probably a $75 part from the dealer ~ I'll go without for now.

I don't have one of these on my 2000 XK8's trunk. Am I missing something? I've got one on the hood, is this the one they are talking about, on the nose of the car?

We are missing the medallion between the JAG and the UAR on the rear of trunk lid ~ you push to open the trunk...

Love your circle Rob I have a grey button there. It's supposed to be the green thingy?

I see where you mean now. My 2000 XK8 doesn't have that chrome strip and nothing to push to open the trunk from the outside, just the button inside the car or your key inserted between the XK and the 8 on the right side under the tail light.

Thanks for the picture it really helped to see what you/they are talking about.

98 xk8's have a round medallion on the trunk lid - same as the one on the hood.

I did not know that, although mine is grey, it does have a little jaguar head on it. For a second, I thought mine had been snagged!

I wonder if you could snag one off a salvage vehicle..... Might be worth checking with Coventry West and Motor Cars Ltd.

I think they are part of the button switch. I have never seen just the Jaguar head piece. Probably just a vinyl stick-on trim piece.
