Default Central locking

My car automatically locks doors once I’m moving.
That’s not too bad. but annoyingly when I park up and leave the car unattended and unlocked it activates the alarm system. Doors will not be locked, but if I open the door after about 10 seconds the alarm goes off - then we have to search the house for the keys to deactivate it with the fob.
Can I change that setting anywhere?
thanks

I meant to say - ‘when I’ve parked the car’

A few days ago we were in town and I said to my daughter that I will leave the car unlocked so she can get back in and wait for me - soon as she opened the passenger door off goes the alarm!

Of course, it does ..you have to either press the "open " on the fob or put the key in the ignition within about 7 sec.
No way around it.
Be grateful that the remote is working and the windows drop. I have had so many door lock problems I only have to look at the door cards and they jump off.

But he's not locked it.

On my 2001 XKR the doors will automatically lock when I drive off, but once parked I can leave it unlocked and open the doors at any time without the alarm going off. Maybe auto alarm arming is a setting somewhere in IDS?

Find someone with PDU, WDS or IDS and configure the car the way you want it.

When I worked at the dealer I would tell the sales guy to get the customer into the shop to get the things configured before delivery.
