Ceramic Finish
I did consider having a whole detailing/ceramic coating done. But it depends how much you would trust someone with your pride and joy. Personally I am a traditionalist and prefer to look after the car myself. I am a firm believer in using a pressure washer now rather than hand washing. Others may disagree but I believe that even with the double bucket hand cleaning method it is better to use a pressure washer, simply because you are avoiding any hand contact on the paintwork, then use a drying towel to wipe ,and wash the drying towel every time. If your car is garaged every night then you should not need to wax it that often. Don't take it out in the wet or when there is salt on the roads. Also if you have a red car like mine, try to avoid direct sunlight for long periods of time and the seagulls seem to target shiny red cars if you live close to the coast. I had a bonnet full a few weeks ago. It took me 4 or 5 goes with G3 and an orbital polisher to get the marks out.
I am definitely thinking of trying a ceramic coating myself but I just worry that if you make a bollocks of it then you may seal the imperfections in. So I think I will just stick with the natural Carnuaba wax for now until I learn more. At least with that it is easier to correct any mistakes.
I hope this makes some sort of sense.
Cheers mate, Smithy 😀👍

It looks fine in normal light but in the garage under bulb light you can see the swirls. That is the best I can get it with normal wax even with a MOP ... so the ceramic option I will definitely look into. 👍

I use a DA polisher and even wet sand with 2000/2500 grit if there are scratches. Clear coat is very hard and fine scratches are not easy to remove. It is also usually fairly thick and it's not easy to sand through it with very fine paper.
For a car that is driven, I’ve found that a traditional high quality wax is more durable than the ceramic spray finishes.
Additionally, perhaps due to me being more accustomed to the look of traditional wax, the ceramic fishes don’t look better, they just look greasy. I tried 2 or 3 different ceramic sprays, all “rated” highly, but they didn’t deliver.
I think the ceramic products are 90% hype and 10% useful.

I used Torque, wow it's great. I don't drive it in the rain, but got caught in a pop up thunder storm came home and put it in the garage, not happy. The next day i could not tell i drove through a thunderstorm. It works great.

Pros - IMHO - The traditional waxes are better, you get a more natural finish and shine. Also it is easier to correct anything if you do not get it right first time. With ceramic stuff it can be difficult to repair any mistakes you make.
Cons - The protection does not last as long and you have to apply more often than Ceramic based.
Personally as someone who uses my treasured car as a thing that I love once or twice a week.. I garage it up and do not use it in any extreme conditions like wet, snow and salty roads so I prefer normal wax. For those with a daily driver, then I can understand why they would go for a ceramic as a better option.
My VHO 👍
The hybrid option might be a "middle way" of benefits of both. I think it is worth looking into so I might give it a try 👍
From my experience:
the turtle wax hybrid smells great, works fine
The Mothers CMX is more durable, final result looks similar to Turtle Wax
I've tried many of the lower cost. DIY solutions, always jump back to Mothers...but !! I enjoy rubbing the curves of the car and use Protect All, it does NOT last long, it is easy to apply, it does not build up on rubber, it is great on plastic, glass, paint, it is inexpensive and...it does look 'greasy' with a very wet appearance.
