Why not avoid all the interior removal, hole cutting and working blind and cramped, plus fabricating a cover. Lower the rear suspension a couple of inches by removing mounting bolts and as I recall a couple of cable clamps. Easy access to fuel lines then. Remove trunk lining and tank retainers and filler hose. Be careful not to dent inside of L quarter with L upper tank corner when pulling tank rearward for unfettered access to pump(s).
