Default Charge to replace a 2005 XKR Fuel Pump?

Hi Decatur!

I was just playing with the English Men that sit in the Right Seat!

While I'm at it! How much do you charge to replace a 2005 XKR Fuel Pump? and what would you have to pay for the Pump? I'm in the process of having to replace my 5th Pump and so far Jaguar has only paid for one... They say that my Pump is 3 days over a year old and they are SORRY! $800.00 + over night for Dallas...

Has Jaguar found this Model Pump to be a problem? Why have I had to buy so many? What wrong with them and is there a replacement or another Brand I can buy that will stand-up to the job? In other words: Is there a replacement?

I really would appreciate your HELP!

I always recommend the 4.0 XK/XJ pumps be replaced about every 100,000 Miles but I have never replaced a 4.2 pump on any customer cars.

I think the pump used to be about $500+ and the labor added to that.

Never did one so I don't know.

I still have a few old customers but I am trying to convince people that I'm retired. They don't listen to me and show up for repairs.
They get the idea when I take a week to get the job done but I do get around to getting things done!!

Bob,

It's so strange to hear that you have never replaced an 4.2 Fuel Pump....? Do you think it strange that I am on my fifth one? What else should I look for? Apparently, you go to a different source when a 4.2 acts-up like this and I would like to know where you go...My Friend Charley has suggested that it might be the wiring around the connector up by the Fuel Pump Modul.....Would you have any suggestions there? or any where? I can't believe you've not replaced a 4.2 pump.....Something must be wrong that replacing the Pump fix's....maybe moving something around or bumping or something......Any ideas?
