Charged battery on xk8 and ABS fan stopped
I didn't use my 1999 XK8 for over a month and the battery died. I just charged the battery and with abs, limited drive, etc warnings on dash, I checked my abs control and the fan is not running. 2 years ago someone pushed a charge to the fan and my abs was fine till now. Does someone here know how to put an electric boost to the abs fan so the car will drive again?
Thanks

It's likely that the solder connections are bad, as Dave suggested. Here is a tutorial from Jag lovers on fixing them. If you are unable to do the repair yourself but can remove the module and cut the case open, any appliance repair service can do the solder repair.

Given the need to recharge the battery, I would make sure your battery is good first. Low batteries do strange things to these cats and will throw all kinds of error codes. Plenty of things that will trip the ABS light that do not require fixing the pump.
Also try a hard reset of the battery. No cost and may clear up your error codes.

I wasn't thinking, sorry. I meant the pump on the side of the ABS unit. I usually can hear it running when the car is on. Two years ago in mid winter, it was 15 degrees outside and too damn cold to do my own work on it, I brought it to Jaguar. They told me that they had to boost up the pump as from not using the car it stopped working. I would rather jump it myself if someone here knows how to do it, rather than bring it back to Jaguar and paying their fees. I don't have a Jaguar brake reader. The dealer does. I do have a top of line OBD2 reader that reads brake codes but not Jaguar. The OBD2 reader does have a Jaguar setting.

Keep your battery on a maintainer during periods of non-use like and avoid these problems.
