I read 550 HP on the official Jag web site in the "R" brochure below:

http://www.jaguar.com/us/en/#/r/r_specifications
After opening go to the "R" Brocure and specifications page...then go to the "Build your own" for some fun.

It is $132K vs a regular XKR coupe at "only" $96K...order yours today! The color of the one on the video is..."French Racing Blue"!!! Yucky color for such a classy car IMO. I don't know about how the frontal area looks? If I had $200k i'd get the DB9 Aston

Personally I don't really think that it looks classy or sophisticated. All these cars have hit a plateau. Nothing is striking or different anymore. They all have the same general shape but are differentied by slightly different sizes and different details.

The First Generation XK8/R were different from the competition. They look classy and sophisticated.

As I opined before on a similar thread--a bit too much "rice" for me. All that is missing is a big letter R logo along the rear quarter panels.

Loved it - the re-designed front fascia with the hew headlights does it for me.

I wonder if they take a kidney for a down payment ..... ?

Too vulgar for my tastes.

It looks like a 1990 Mazda RX7 with a cheap body kit on it.

It has a nice engine, though.

Wait a minute I own a 1990 Mazda RX-7, which I drive during the winter instead of my 2001 XKR.

I loved the video makes you want to go out and buy one. I agree the color is nothing to get excited about.

Is spring ever going to come?

I like the styling, now all I need is to wait 10 years to get one with 50K miles

I don't care much about the styling, but after watching the Speed Maker series on The Speed Channel on how they are built, they really are a high tech performance car. Especially when you find out the aluminum body is built like modern day aircraft.

lol! I feel kind of cheap and dirty for buying my 97 for the price I paid when I could have bought an new or newer XKR. But I do kinda smile when I drive it and I still can't believe the bargain I got. So someone else took 90% of the depreciation hit, and I'm getting all the joy out of it.

I agree about too much pizazzy (rice) stuff on it. The standard body is classier..I just don't like the headlights...wish they were more like the Aston Martin...not that I can afford either one...happy with mine...cept who wouldn't want another 100hp. Hopefully the 510hp 2010/11 models will drastically drop in price in 6-8years then i'll get one. Otherwise I don't like the "new" style enough to get an 07-09 with only the 4.2L, 420hp engine.

In 1990 I thought the Mazda RX7s were badass! But that's because they looked like 1985 Porsche 944s or 924s. So maybe Jag is trying to copy 1980's Porsches rather than 1990's Mazdas. In either case, I think the design team was bribed by some teenage fans of The Fast and the Furious.

I sure hope Jag put some neon lights under the car. It needs a bigger, dual wing spoiler.

I like the basic shape but the front end styling has a certain cartoonish-ish quality to it, IMHO. Not as bad as some Japanese cars (which often look like Mutant Ninja Turtle characters) but, still....

Cheers

Im suprised not a lot of you guys like it. Yes, the looks of the vehicle is more towards the race side, but it looks like a high-end racing machine. Front end looks really nice. Also, the interior with racing seats looks beautiful. Something different.
