Default cleaned ABS sensors

So I got the ABS DSC codes up a few weeks ago and figured it was time to clean the sensors. To my surprise there was no dirt on them, just a thin layer of dust which should not affect their operation. I wiped of the dust and put them back on and expected the codes to come up again, but to my surprise all is fine now. Perhaps there was a loose connection and removing and replacing the plugs fixed it?
Just glad the ABS is working again.

This is more often than cleaning the problem. That is light corrosion/poor connection withiin the connectors. Unplugging and reconnecting is a cleaning process and can fix wheel speed sensor issues and many other things electrical on the car. Not always but it is an occurance

I am a huge believer in connector 'exercise'! Air bag faults are now absent, and I didn't change/repair a thing, only pulled and replugged in various connectors inside and under my seat.

Wink

thanks for confiming that i may have fixed them at their connection. Should we come up with a technical name for this plug out/plug in procedure? Perhaps the "Jaguar Jiggle" Or is that already taken

I work in aviation as an avionics AME, and "reracking" or removing a box from it's tray and remounting it can often clear a problem. It's nice to find a more substantial fix, but if it's gone, and stays away, don't argue with success.

Agree avt, wholeheartedly. Jaguar' jiggle' has been used for the neutral safety switch issue bypass, anything else?

Slight rewrite... needs to be the "Jag-Wire Jiggle"
If only there was a way to unplug and replug my memory!

Perhaps that dielectric grease that you're liberally applying to the electrical connections is causing problems... We never had that problem when I worked on the avionics on airplanes on an aircraft carrier.

The DC4 was primarily used on pressure switches located in areas prone to moisture, deicing fluid, etc. It did wonders for reliability. Connectors in dry warm areas never needed that treatment.
