Default Cleaning convertible headlining

I got caught in one of the UK's recent downpours where the spots of rain are the size of golf *****. I managed to get the hood up (doesn't it take an age when it's raining on your head?!) before getting soaked but the headlining now has numerous water spots. I guess the rain is showing how grubby the material has become over the years so it needs a clean.
Is there a preferred method please?

Your owner's handbook recommends what is called in the US, rubbing alcohol. I tried the rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and almost passed out. Guess I should have used Scotch. I now use the spray brake cleaner which does no damage and instantly evaporates taking any stain with it. Proper ventilation is a must either way.

Smoggy, Can you please share how you apply it? Do you just wet a lint free cloth and rub it out? thanks,

John

Yes that's exactly it. You will need a number of clean cloths and don't let the headliner get too wet.

It can take a couple of visits. Letting it dry in between.
