Default Climate control codes

I finally brought the VCM home from work today and hooked it up through my laptop. O.K., I expected the ABS code, that so nicely appeared directly after I replaced the tires, to be C1095 - no big deal. Also expected was the brake light switch that popped up yesterday, 'Failsafe...', cruise switch light drops out, no warning of bulb failure, brake lights working.

Unexpected were five climate control codes, including CPS (crankshaft position sensor.) I've been doing this stuff long enough to know that multiple errors in one module usually indicates a failing/failed module. However, the climate control works just fine - other than one burned-out bulb in the display. The CPS code can/could be attributed to a network error (though there are no 'U' codes in any module) but the remaining codes were inside temp sensor, door position, etc.

I guess my question is, is this SOP for a failing CCM? Figured I'd ask, no reason to reinvent the wheel. Actually, since it gets hot/cold I doubt I'll do anything to it unless it's something simple.

I cannot directly answer your question but when using a borrowed AutoEnginuity unit I got all sorts of codes that didn't seem to have any affect on anything. I do not know if that is an AE software issue or a ECM issue.

See if this procedure helps in confirming your other indicators http://www.gusglikas.com/images/Auto...or%20Codes.pdf

TBH, I can't recall any climate control issues on the xk8/r, even the first couple model years.
