Convertible Latch Leaking
I went to put top down and hydraulic fluid began pouring out of head panel below where the top latch is.
Note: I was picking the car up from the body shop after having the nose repainted.
Any ideas as to what I'm in for in terms of repair.

Most likely the hoses have deteriorated and will need replaced. It can be done DIY or farmed out to local indie. If the latch hoses are bad, check the RAM hoses as well. If the outer black layer is flaking off the hoses - recommend replacing all at once.

A complete set of hoses is around $600. I used Cabriolet Hydraulics when I replaced mine, Top Hydraulics is also a recommended vendor.

Take a look at Gus's website (link below) for procedures on replacing

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

If your lucky, you may have another member in your area that has experienced this phenomenon and would be willing to assist for a cold beverage or two.

regards,

Steve

Don't be intimidated if you decide to swap the hoses and cylinders yourself. Lots of pieces but it's fairly straightforward and there are lots of good photos on the forum. I did mine in the spring and it all went smoothly. I also put in Gus's relief valve for some extra piece of mind.
Good Luck!
