Like the question says do you leave your top down while in parking lots when going out ? Say if you go to a grocery store or the mall ?

Yes, if its for dinner/lunch/quick trip to the grocery. Malls, hell no!

 

It depends on the neighborhood. I leave mine down most of the time. I don't leave anything in it to grab. My concern is parking under trees... all kinds of stuff falls out of them.

It's way to easy to put up to leave it down. Just put the key in the door and hold. Top goes up and locks everything so nicely. When I come out, put key back in and it all opens right up. The only time I leave it down is if its a really quick in-out.

 

No pat answer to this one--too many variables. Depends on where I am parking, the weather, how long will I be, how many other stops am I making, etc.

My top is down pretty much April through September. I often leave the keys in too. Sounds kind of stupid, but northern New Hampshire is pretty safe and honorable. The top has been up a couple times when it rained unexpectedly.

 

Yes I leave the top down for quick trips to the store and eating out but no to malls. I worry about birds just as much as people. I can't even leave the top down in my driveway, so it sits in the garage.

 

It definitely depends on the neighborhood and the types of people likely to be milling about. Throngs of teenagers are a big negative. While at the office, dining out, or shopping in better parts of town - yes, I leave it down. At the mall and for extended trips in built-up urban downtown areas - nope.
