Default Convertible top Dust Issue

Well we did it... our 1998 XK8 finally died and we jumped back in with a 2001. Found one with 15K miles. This may have been covered before but does anyone have a solution to the disintegrating fiberboard between the head liner and the convertible top?

When we drive with the top down that dust flies everywhere most of which ends up in our eyes.

Any suggestion would be helpful. I actually took the leaf blower and just blasted it and think i got a bunch out but if anyone has a permanent solution, I am all ears.

I assume that is for sound control.

I never drive without the Hood Stowage Cover because the wind will beat the headliner into 'tattered-mess'. (as you have discovered)

Great point, We all just want to flip it back and go... only takes a few seconds to put it on.

Yep, utilizing the tonneau cover whenever the top is down will greatly extend the life of the various bits and pieces inside of it....

I don't have any fiberboard in my 2004 XKR nor in my 2001 XK8 Convertible. Just the top and headliner?

"Fiberboard" is a misnomer. The interior ragtop material is much softer than that....

Ok, yes it's simply a soft headliner.
