Here's the story I forgot a pair of how's on my roof put the top down the roof smashed the shoes went to put it back up and it got half way up and I heard a SNAP!!!!!! It struggled to go up I put it down then it went all the way back up no problems now I get in the car and one of the beams that go across the top behind the headliner is pertruding down nearly tuching my head if I'm sitting down I found a piece of something that is cracked top will go up and dwn fine now but something is off any ideas of what to do??? Dismantel? Buy a whole new top? How involved is that? I took some pics will pos asap

 

Please post some pictures...hopefully it is just the headliner hardware.

 

These are some of the pics as you can see one of the frame rods is pertruding downward but like I said the top goes up and down without problem no noise or sense of strain its just this bar is defenitly in the wrong place. Pushing on it does nothing it does not move.

Bad news. That broken piece is from your rear side frame rail. You are going to need a new top assembly. Best bet is to get one used from salvage.

This migtht be covered by your insurance.

 

Do you or anyone know how or how difficult it is to remove the entire roof assembly?
