Yes I drilled 3mm holes just to make sure it doesn't fall out, but at the end it was very tight even without the screws.

Going to paint up for my own needs and firm up on the fitting and make any required adjustments then may well start up producing blanks for sale. Buyers could then paint to their own specifications.

Well after getting covid and flooring me for a while I’ve finally got the new roof handle painted up and installed in my own 96 convertible XK8. Was a tight fit but I have to say I am well impressed with the outcome.

Then I just printed myself one that fits so precisely in the cutout that the fabric is perfectly clamped without having to fix it with glue.
Even if he sits so tight and would not have to be screwed tightly, I still preferred the version with drill holes.
