Convertible top issue
New to the forum 2003 Jaguar Xkr. I replaced the lifting cylinders, and hoses for the top straight foward. My proplem is the actual ram is moving up and down during roof cycle. This ram needs to be stationary during roof operation. What am I missing? The triangle metal piece that you unbolt must have something to do with it, but I can't seem to figure it out.Thank you for your time.
Gary,
Welcome to the forum.
When you got time (Jag all sorted) please drop by the "New members area" and do what you do.
I have no idea on the XK8, as it is one model I have not had anything to do with just yet.
My suggestion is to repost this in the XK8 area. That will get you many more model specific answers, as not everyone comes in here regularly.

There is a round protrusion on the metal plate that has to fit into the hole on the ram. That keeps the ram in place. The ram should swivel as the top opens and closes but it shouldn't move up or down.
