I have a 97 XK8 Convertible that had a 1" x 3" hole in the convertible top when I bought it. Is there something, like plate, that goes in that hole? If so, does anyone know where I can buy one?

 

This "hole" is actually a handle. In the event that the hydraulic system fails, this allows you to manually close the top. It should be lined with fabric like the rest of the headliner.

Know where the allen wrench is located if you need to operate it manually. It is in the trunk above your CD on the right..

 

Thank You, i was going to get the manual out and see where it is. This is my first Jag. its a 97 with 33,000 miles. And we absolutly love it, handles and drives like a dream. I looked for 2 months for a corvette that i might enjoy , could not decide on a color and they seemed overpriced and there are 4 others in my neighborhood. We decieded to look for something different but didnot know what, came across jags on ebay. Saw a carnival red 97 convertable and decieded to buy it a hour later at the buy it now price, which i thought was very resonable. Bought from a dealer in Ohio around last December.Had it shipped to Iowa and when i got it was as described absolutly no disappiontments. Andy
