Cooling leak 99 xk8
Noticed a anti freeze leak and is has me puzzled as how to replace. It appears to be a hose which runs from the bottom of the expansion tank under the phlenum or intake forward to below the thermostat housing, not sure how to replace, not sure if removing thermostat housing would give me enough access since this is the location of the leak. Not sure if removing the phlenum or intake is going to be easy, which is attached to the fuel inj. throttle body, if it needs to be removed, are there gaskets or orings that need to be replaced?.
Appreciate any helpand advice thanks

I'd bet my left ventricle (i know...) that the leak IS actually the expansion tank, and not the hose. I had the exact same thing happen. Clean it up real good, drive it around, open the hood...and you should be able to see the culprit. That plastic tank and the nipples more specifically, get brittle from that heat. Replace yourself ... $175 plus some new coolant for the loss you'll experience during the swap.
If its a hose..that's better news, wallet wise.
PS, always good form my friend to post a welcome message in the new members section before diving into a question for help. We're here, but we don't like being used like my freshman year college girlfriend. Head over there next, and we hope you stick around.

Good God! where are my manners, Sorry to All. New member greeting posted. H2Oboy, thanks for suggestion, I checked the expansion tank first and it is totally dry, also the hose coming out of the bottom of the tank tee's into another which is lower in height then where the hose runs under the thermostat housing in the front of engine, where it appears to be leaking after checking with a small mirror.
Jag-Genius , Thanks, heater hose appears to be the culprit how does one go about replacing? Is the intake difficult to remove or lift without disturbing fuel system, inj. throttle body, is any calibration needed? Last intake installed was a few years ago on a big block

pretty straight foward.. you can take the intake and throttle assembly straight out.. or just tilt it up.. 10 .. 10mm bolts.. then 3 ..10 mm bolts on either side holding lower throttle to block .. remove camsensor connectors.. andthrottle connections.. remove brake booster line.. push cicle in then pull out.. few other small things..collant pipe 2 8mm bolts. if taking it fully out .. will have to disconnect both fuel lines.. with quick release clips. just becareful at the back of the hoses towards firewall.. connections are brittle..
