Default copper grease or just any anti-sieze compound for the wheels?

Is using copper grease on the wheels a must or can some other anti-sieze compound be used instead?

I use anti seize compound, have been using it for over thirty years beginning with my MG's, never had a problem.

For decades now I've simply used a smear of wheel bearing grease. Works grrrreat :-)

Copper (or any other) anti-seize / grease will prevent seizure. It only needs to be smeared thinly over the contact points between wheel and hub.

However the bright copper colour of 'Copaslip' anti-seize looks bad if excess gets on the face of the alloy wheels or the inside of the rims.

I use the Aluminium equivalent available from Land Rover Dealers which is the same colour as the alloys.
