Default Crack in the Wood Dashboard...Showstopper?

I have been on the hunt for the right XK8 for a number of months. I think I may have found one that checks most of the boxes. The cars is hundreds of miles away, so I haven't seen it in person yet. I was told it has a small crack in the wood dashboard. What would have caused something like this? Should this be a showstopper? All opinions welcome.

that shouldn't be a show stopper - and Saul at British Autowood can easily refinish if needed!!!

What caused it - age, someone being careless trying to remove the fascia to get behind the panel - could be many causes.

Depends on your level of acceptance, can it be repaired, yes - can you live with it, upto you. Personally I couldn't so the repair for me would be required.
