Default cruise control indication

re 2003 XK8.

Is there a dash light that indicates cruise control in on? I looked in manual and did not find any reference to one

Randy

PS I do not believe my car has ACC

No, the red light in the button is all you get. But there should be a brief 'cruise control engaged' in the message center.

No indicator light on 2003 cruise control buttons. I was checking to be sure a dash bulb not burned out

Maybe it's the same as my 06, cruise always on, just use the buttons on the wheel to set. If I push the cruise control button, I get speed limiting. For instance, if I push the button at 60 mph the message center will display a 'speed limiting' message and the car will not exceed that speed if I push the pedal further. But the button is labeled ASL and it also has a red light.
I think the bulb in your button is burned out.

There does not seem to be a similar “speed limiting” associated with the cruise control on my 2002 XKR.

Engaging the cruise control will keep the car at the designated speed without foot pressure on the accelerator. However, pressing the accelerator will increase the cars speed beyond the set speed to as high a speed as is desired. Releasing the pedal pressure and the set speed is once again resumed.
