I've worked at an infinti dealership for 6 years selling parts.. and.. honestly in my experience and after what I've seen service writers do even at other dealerships.. I wouldn't take my car to a dealership unless I had to. It's bad.. I was debating commenting on this post but..
There are good honest people in the industry.. but there are some really bad ones who will take advantage of you :/ hopefully you find a good one and your local Jaguar service writer is a good person

I have a great local indie shop that I go to for things I don't have the diagnostic equipment, tools, or skills to do. My 2005 S-Type has been there for two different issues in not quite 8 years of ownership. My wife's 2006 XK8 has not had to go there yet in not quite 5 years of ownership. The owner is honest and charges a fair price. He always takes the time to speak with me when I call him looking for advice and he knows I will bring our cars to him only when I've decided the repair is beyond my abilities. The only downside is that they stay very busy so it may be a week or more until they can get to my car....
The only time any of our four vehicles go to dealerships is for warranty or recall issues....
