Question Decent floor mats for XK8?

I bought a set of weathertech mats that supposedly are custom fit, but they are nowhere near the right size in spite of the factory claims. Will be returning them tomorrow.

Anybody have suggestions on a good set of mats (preferably all weather types) for the front floors of these cars?

These are the mats I installed: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=19408

They are a bit thin, but they fit well and are low cost. I wouldn't exactly call them all weather though.

Keith and I have the same mats. I like them, even though they are a little thin. I'm not sure why you're looking for all-weather mats, but for the price you can just throw them away and get new ones when they get dirty, especially if you don't pay extra for embroidery.

Speaking of that... I wonder if they could make me a set with the Aston Martin logo on them. That would be cool! Then I could get new badges on the front and rear and pretend it's a DB7! LOL! Most people in my neck of the woods wouldn't know the difference.

I don't know about the Aston badges. Would you really want your car to look like this?

YES! I don't care if it's an imitation. I like it!

There is a DB7 style kit floating around somewhere that looks a lot better than that one.

Can't argue with that. It's like any other modification to our cars; if you like it, it's all good.

Check out these: http://www.autogeek.net/lloyrubexfit.html if you really want all-weather mats with a custom fit. I've got the tan ones, and they go well with the oatmeal interior. I use these for everyday and save the carpet mats. They are custom cut and have a good fit and stay in place(although they do not use the mat hooks on the floor). They did have a weird odor for a few days when new, but after a week it was gone. They are die cut, and not as styish as the weathertech, and no logo, so they might not be everyone's cup of tea, but they work for me.

Saw those before, but sorry they just look really, really flimsy for that price. Are they at least a good fit?

The Weathertech ones for the Jag XK8 are completely off. Fortunately after a discussion with their customer service people I will be getting a fedex return label from them soon and sending them back for a full refund. Very surprising for a company like Weathertech to market something as custom made and then send along JC Whitney-type universal fit nonsense. Be warned.

The fit is very good. They are not as heavy as the Weathertech, but I definitely would not call them flimsy. To be honest, they look better once installed that I though they would from the pictures.

I guess the best way I could put it is that I am satisfied with them, but all things being equal the Weathertech is a nicer mat (if it fit).

Default Floor Mats XK8/XKR

I have been meaning to upload some pictures of the floor mats I got from GG Bailey.
Here is a link:http://www.ggbailey.com
I got them for $100.00 which includes the heal pad and custom lettering. The fit and quality are awesome for the money.Notice the binding as well as the cut and hardware they use.
They were a perfect match in my car and they give it a personal touch.

Second that motion. GG Bailey is THE place to buy great mats.

If you're driving a beautiful car, might as well have great mats to boot. People always ask me about my mats.

Not cheap, but they last through rain, snow, heat - everything.

I have purchased mats from GG 4x for 4 different cars. When I got rid of the cars, I kept the mats. Just too pricy to throw into the deal and the mats still looked good. Will sell them on ebay when I get around to it.

Definitely check out GG Bailey.
