See if this provides you the information you are looking for.

As for temperatures and the relationship of the hose failures that topic has been brought up many times with no real solution.

It suggests that the main rams may be being pressurized before the catch is fully open (most significantly before the two retaining pins have withdrawn from the alignment lugs on either side of the main catch). Again this could suggest a timing issue with the design - not sure yet.

Thanks for the update

I have a question for the various folks who have posted pressure plots:

- Was anyone able to run parallel plots for the main rams and front catch hydraulic circuits? It would be very interesting to see how long both circuits remain pressurized together.

Default Ouch

If I have inadvertently trodden on hallowed ground I apologize to any and all I may have offended. I'm merely coming in (apparently late) to a discussion about a problem I share with many others and trying to get to the root cause.

I will continue to dig since it is likely that I run the risk of a green shower at some point in the future and will share any pertinent (and new) information I am able to produce. I plan to focus on the control system since that's where I believe the fundamental issue to lie; however I may yet be wrong.

If anyone in the SoCal area has access to a pair of pressure transducers I'd be happy to meet with them and continue the investigation at our mutual convenience.

I ran across a quote last night that struck me as pertinent. Again please don't berate me if this create some perceived affront - none is intended.

I like it. A lot like something Richard Feynman might have said.

This is a much discussed and debated topic, however any new information is always welcome.
A fresh mind is usually a good thing when looking at a problem.
