Talking Denso LNE1020CB (197408) MAF senser

Hi,
I want to replace the MAF sensor on my wife's 2000 XK8; would prefer A Denso; but can only find 197-6020; will that work OK? Tired of cleaning the OEM! Don't want Chinese junk!

Thanks for helping an old fart!

I can only report that a Denso 197-6030 MAF sensor worked 100% on both my wife's 2006 XK8 with the 4.2 V8 as well as my former 2005 S-Type with the 3.0 V6. As inexpensive as these things are nowadays, I would be willing to chance it on the 4.0 engine....

XK8 owners looking for the Denso MAF, be thankful you are needing a reasonably priced part. The MAF for the (early) XKR’s is 3 times as expensive.

Zray,
Well Denso (Calif) can't tell me latest part no.or /sell me a part because on contractual reasons with Jaguar! .Surly some one on our forum has replaced their XK8 MAF sensor with a NON Chinese part!
SNG Barratt has an after market (Chinese?) for $156 or $316 for OEM.
Very frustrating ...................

Come on Guys, someone must have found a genuine Denso MAF for a 4.0L that works and is willing to share the Denso part no.!
I've got it running again (after cleaning it) but would like to replace the MAF at a reasonable cost!
Please help me,wife wants her car back! Cheers, Adrian

cross referencing is a real mess. 197-6030 AKA C2S2670 is for all 4.2 NA engines.

197-6040 AKA C2C7636 is for all supercharged 4.2 cars. for some reason it crosses over to LNA1620CB, which is for NA 16bit 4.0 cars (your 2000 XK8). LNE1620BB is the part number for the supercharged 4.0s, maybe somebody got confused.

i would try 197-6030 first

Try PartsGeek.com. They list the Denso part for the 2000 XK8. $120.

As XALY suggested, 197-6030 does appear to work OK;but Made in Viet Nam!. Came in a DENSO box from Amazon $60! Not sure how long it will last.

But Doc Watson found a Calf. site densoproducts.com that shows 197-6030 as Made in Japan for $74.(they are not DENSO) but a distributor of Denso parts. But also they show that 197- 6030 as NOT compatible with XK 8; same story as the Official Denso Cal. outlet policy !!
So at $74 + $6 shp I'm going to buy a Japanese spare from densoproducts.com.!
Oops, called densoproducts.com; they think they are now made in Viet Nam , they have 78 on hand and are checking their warehouse to see if they have any Made in Japan!! Customer service guy is working from Home so may take a while!

What a bloody mess! darn Jaguar/Denso legalities..............who cares about customer service! I've owned Jags since the 60's and nothing has changed!!!

Will let you Guys know if the Viet Nam part is reliable but wife doesn't drive very far!

Update: Denso products in Calif has 38 in stock but ALL Made in Viet Nam!! Disappointing.
My Viet Nam from Amazon still working OK! I have made at least six cycles and no problems yet!
That's the best I can do; so 197-6030 it is for 2000 XK8. Thanks again to Forum and Xaly.
Wife happy now.
Cheers, Adrian
