Have to say... Simple Green did an amazing job on the wheels... thanks to whoever it was for the suggestion.

Stood infront of that aisle for 30 mins... so many choices for car cleaning.

Watching "Graveyard Cars" where they take them all apart and clean each and every piece to meet "off the line" specs has me wanting every piece to shine... but it's just too unrealistic.

Bought some Black Magic Leather products and will take some before and after shots... and Clay Bar is definitely in the near future with a good waxing...

Sacramento heat is not too far off... and while I have yet to get to the oribtal buffer, I get the feeling that too is coming soon.

never heard of measuring paint depth but this detail job is way out there - of course I'd be having the same thing done if this were my car

Unbelievable detailing. Can't imagine what kind of cost we might be talking about here, but if you can afford a Bugatti...

So I guess everyone on this thread has just been proven to be closer to normal.

And did anyone notice one of the last responder's tag line? "OCD - Obsessive Car Detailer".

Hmm, well lots of pictures and an amazing workshop, but I don't think the end result is all that good. Look at the marks around the spotlight reflections in this photo. Personally, I wouldn't be satisfied with that, especially if I was paying $$$ for the work. I've seen a lot better than this.

Just thought I would show you a couple of pictures of what can be achieved underneath the car by us "normal" folk, if you have a lot of time and patience.
Sadly it is not mine, but by god, i wish it was.

^I think to appreciate that (and carry it out in the first place), you need a pit or a ramp. Fortunately for my prospects of remaining married, I have neither

I don't know how true it is, but from his write ups, he did it with the car on ramps, on his back using carburettor cleaner and him being in his 70's.

Now that is dedication to the cause and OCD at its finest.

Just a couple of shots.

Finished painting the brake hats on all 4 corners, I think they turned out rather well. For the observant OCD, you will notice the locknut, Jaguar head and chin and valve cap are all in a line.

Also 2 phots of my engine bay ready for when the sun comes out.

Nice. I must do my brake hats, too. Well done on the alignment

BTW, I really like the contrast of the retro wheel centre caps on the 20" wheels.
