differential fluid filter
I'm getting ready to drain the rear differential on my 2002 XK8. I know there's a dirty filter lurking back there but I don't know if it is replaceable or if it just gets cleaned out and reinstalled.
I don't want to start the job until I know if I need to install a new filter and have it in hand.
If there is a replacement filter available would someone kindly give me a part number ( preferably not a Jaguar number, I'm on a fixed income ) or direct me to a source from which I can purchase one ?
As always any help/guidance will be most appreciated.

You will have to cut a hole in the trunk about 3 in sq to access the filler plug and use a pump to get the oil out ...UNLESS you are lucky and have a later one with a drain plug.
Personally, I removed the connection box to the right of the hole location, drilled 4 corner holes and cut it out square with a jigsaw ..not neat but quick ..He got his hole a bit too high..YOU MUST USE A WOBBLE END EXTENSION TO GET IT OUT !!!

Not helping the OP much with his convertible , but if any coupe owners are following this…… the access on the coupe is much better . The access to the fill plug is still tight, but at least no hole cutting required.
Ive replaced the rear end fluid on my ‘02 XKR coupe a couple of times, and it gets somewhat easier the more practice one has.
as long has we’re ragging on the designers , it would’ve been nice if all the cars had a separate drain plug.

I ain't just saying this. I did this two weeks ago... Not a bad job at all. And yes, I cut the hole - can't image why anyone would do it another way.
To me, watching that video, a 2inch hole seemed much. And it is. I used a 14$ 1.5 in hole cutting saw from Amazon. Cut the first hole (convertible) and continued in and cut the second. Took all of 3 minutes. The hole I placed as close as the top round of the hole saw could get to where the top body curve (you'll see it) makes that 90 degree in towards the tank, and equal with the edge of the mega fuse holders RH most plastic tab.
Did what the guy in the video did but with a larger hand pump gizmo from harbor freight 4$. Then filled it back up. Jacked up the rear of the car and accessed the breather with I think a 14mm wrench.
I found a 1.5inch plastic body plug on Amazon, after a dab of rust proof paint, popped I the plug while the second coat was still wet. Great fit and seal.
A good thing, as Martha would say.
