Differential Rebuild Kits
I'm planning to install a LSD in the not too distant future and since the car has 80k miles and everything will be apart anyway, I thought I'd look into replacing wear parts, like seals, bearings and whatever else might be advisable. I will be taking it to my trusted Jaguar Indie to do the rebuild, but I would like to gather up all the parts ahead of time.
Are there any good rebuild kits out there that have all the parts in one box?
I searched with Google and found this one, which lists the XK8 in the application guide, but when I go to Precision Gear's website they say rather generically, Jaguar-All models 60-87:
Precision Gear 352026 - Free Shipping on All Orders @ JEGS
What do the forum experts say? Is there a recommended list of parts to replace? Preferred sources for them?

Contact the Coventry West people, pete I think?
When I contemplating changing rear axle, he noted they provide rebuilt Jag diffs (on demand, they don't keep them on the shelf) from the six cylinder XJR. He said that diff be of little advantage if I did not change rear axle BUT he noted rebuilt V8 diffs were getting pricey and that the sc v6 model was becoming a bargain.

Called them this morning, they don't (and won't) sell rebuild kits or the parts for the XK, only complete differentials.
He said that it is a complicated rebuild and too many people couldn't do it and sent the parts back, so they stopped selling the kits.

The life of the diff is also dependent on how well the installer sets the pre-load. This can be a lengthy job to do right, and some may take short cuts, or leave it when its close, but that will shorten the life.
I can also recommend a shotpeen treatment (relatively cheap), for the pinion and gear. This will strengthen it a bit, not just recommendable for ones that have increased power, but in general, as also stock cars have experienced issues here as well.
I only do the main bearings, as the rest (side bearings and pinion seal upfront) could be done insitu if they are failing.
