Default Discoloration on inside of convertible top

After putting the top down when I bring it back up it seems to have a rusty color on the inside lining. The car has no apparently leaks. Has anyone else had this problem or know the best way to clean it without damaging the top or inside where the top rest?

The fabric adhesive is probably failing/disintegrating. Some folks have cleaned those orange-colored stains with alcohol or brake cleaning solvent. But sooner or later you will have to address the adhesive failure....

Even plain old water will remove it.

Thank you, I will look more into and how to fix the underlying problem.
