Default Dodged an expensive bullet!

This past Tuesday I decided to take the Jag out for a stretch of the legs. It was a nice morning and I dropped the top and set out on a 1\2 hour drive to the gun club where the previous Sunday we had a sporting clays event. One of the throwing machined had a problem and I brought along some tools and the parts to fix it. Mission accomplished I set out for home via a different route so I could do a little high speed romp on the highway. A quick stop at the market for a few things then back home, pleased to have enjoyed the ride. An hour so so later the wife asks me to go back to the market for something she needed for dinner. Back to the old girl and with the clouds starting to build up , I decided the top should be raised. Off I go and get what's needed and back home again. I get out and go to the trunk to collect the goods and I see a trail of oil spots on the drive way!!! I walk to the street and partway down to the next intersection and the oil drips are prevalent. Went back and lifted the hood and checked the oil level to find it down to the MIN line. I added oil just to be safe and started it to move it out onto the driveway. Didn't go more than 15 feet and left a stream of oil along the way! One of the oil cooler lines had decided to expire. Just lucky that it didn't happen on the earlier trip or the results would have been a disaster.

Yes indeed, you caught a serious break. If only every XK8/XKR owner was that fortunate....

Perfect timing for that kind of disaster. On the highway at speed it would have emptied the oil in seconds.
