Could someone give me the procedure for removing a head on a 1997 XK8? Pictures or video would be helpful.

Probably best to download the workshop manual from the 'stickies' at the top of the page:

It's the first edition you need, but it's not searchable text so I'd suggest taking the second ed also

Alternatively, you can download JTIS from the same place, but it's not very 64-bit friendly. I've attached the JTIS procedure, but it does refer to other sections of the manual

I could not find the cylinder head information in the second edition pdf. I had it in the JTIS version on my XP laptop, but it died this week. Thanks for posting
