I can't remember where I found 1 listed online, I just remember the price was more than the cost of a used engine, so I replaced the whole thing!

I never used one because I pull all the studs with a 'socket-style' stud puller. The kind with 3 rollers inside.

even if you get the studs out, arent the heads welded on from the corrosion?

There may be some corrosion but it shouldn't be enough to stop you from removing them. The gaskets will prevent most of the bonding between the metals. A few taps with a dead blow hammer should loosen it.

Where do you find those sockets and what are they called?

I used forklift to shake my heads loose. All studs and there is about 26 of em were fused to the heads.

This seems a great idea! I have a long-term project to entirely rebuild my spare engine and I am scared about not being able to remove the heads.
Where and how did you attach the forks to the head?

Greg

its getting interesting!!

get a book.

a fork lift will lift straight up ,and the heads are on an angle, they will bind up, and you may damage other things!

most talented people make there own head puller!
