I'm shopping online and came a across a Jaguar XK8 that's being advertised as a 2003 model year car. I'm seeing plenty of nice Jags for sale all over the country. But, I have not seen a dashboard on an XK8 like the one shown below that was 2003 or later. It looks to me as it's a pre-2003 dashboard, I'm no expert but it seems to me that most XK8 2003 and later cars have a GPS screen in place of the 3 gauges. Have I got it wrong?

You are right that most 2003 and newer has satnav, but I do think they still could be ordered with 3 gauge setup. And there are several that are retrofitted. The gauges look better and the satnav was outdated 20 years ago

Agreed. My 2003 XK8 has a near identical look apart mine having the amusing (as opposed to useful) sat nav display.

 

My 2005 xk8 has the three gauge dashboard, stock.

3 gauges or satnav was an option on 4.2 models, my 2004 came from the factory with 3 gauges, so it could be original. However the radio/audio unit is not oem.

 

My 2005 XK8 has the 3 gauge factory setup. Looks just like yours best I can tell.

Hi, Yes mine also.....its a 2005 XK8s, with 3 dials plus carbon fibre dash, this is just after having the headlining and pillars doe in black

 

I took the SATNAV screen out and put in gauges, and used the RealGuages modification so that the gauges actually indicate values, not just 'idiot gauges' that indicate mid-range all the time, unless something goes wrong.
